The Travel Rule is a regulatory requirement that helps prevent financial crimes by ensuring both parties in a crypto transaction are identified. When sending crypto to an unhosted wallet, verification is required to prove you control the receiving address.
Step 1 – Follow The Link
Use the verification link provided to begin the process.
Step 2 – Data and Privacy Consent
Tick the checkbox to confirm that you consent to the data and privacy policies.
Step 3 – Wallet Information
Double-check that your Bitcoin wallet address is correct.
At this point, you have two options for verification:
Connect via OKX Wallet Extension, or
Sign a Message via an External Wallet (e.g., Electrum)
Step 4.1 – OKX Wallet
Make sure you have the OKX Wallet browser extension installed. Open the extension to start the verification.
You do not need to register to use the OKX Wallet extension.
Follow these steps:
Open OKX Wallet → Click "Add wallet" | Click "Import an existing wallet" |
1 way: Enter the seed phrase | 2 way: Input the private key |
Step 5.1 – Connect Account
Select your wallet account and confirm the connection. Accept the signature request to authenticate your wallet.
Step 4.2 – Verification With Signed Message
Choose the option to verify by signing a message using your external wallet.

Step 5.2 – Follow the Instructions
The system will provide a message that you need to sign.
Step 6.2 – Using Wallet Software (Electrum Example)
Step 7.2 – Confirmation
Paste the signature into the “Signature Proof” field in the Sumsub form. Click “Continue” to complete your wallet verification.
